Our History
We started by printing labels.
Heartland Label Printers was founded in 1990 with the goal of manufacturing quality stock and custom-printed labels. Fast-forward three-and-a-half decades, and Heartland Business Systems is a premier provider of technology integration, consulting, infrastructure, business automation and networking solutions.
Throughout our journey, HBS has remained steadfastly committed to providing custom-built technology solutions for our clients, exceeding expectations, every single day.
1990
Heartland Label Printers, Inc. established in Neenah, Wisconsin.
Thanks to Peter Helander’s software program Blendmaster, Heartland Label Printers burst onto the label printing scene and quickly became a nationally recognized company. Heartland Label Printers now operates nearly 200,000 square feet of state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Wisconsin, California, and Maine, truly spanning from coast to coast.
1992
Heartland Business Systems formed. Peter Helander appointed President and CEO.
Computers were mainly back-office tools used to run accounting systems (or drive labeling systems), but as the use of computers in business grew, the demand for the company’s technology expertise took center stage. Recognizing the opportunity to provide quality service for customers with technology needs, Heartland merged with Alferi Communications and Heartland Business Systems was formed, opening our first office in Little Chute, Wisconsin.1998
